Santa Retires Rudolph

Even Santa Claus has apparently been forced to make cutbacks this year. Rumours abound that Santa has retired Rudolph and his entire team of reindeer.

In an exclusive interview, Santa is supposed to have said that it was either the reindeer or cheaper holiday gifts for the kids this year.

Other reports appear to say that Santa has given into temptation and acquired a shiny, bright new red Zipfy mini luge to take him on his round the world trip on Christmas eve.

A photo journalist in Lapland is claiming to have taken photos of Santa practising on his Zipfy in preparation for his upcoming trip round the world. Apparently the photos show a gleeful Santa enjoying himself to the hilt. One photo is thought to show Santa on his Zipfy in mid air during a jump.

Reports are also coming in that, in an interview given from his exclusive retirement resort, Rudolph has claimed to be extremely happy and rather relieved that he and his fellow reindeer don’t have to make the somewhat strenuous trip this year, especially at their age.

On a side note, retailers report that Santa’s latest sled has started a new craze with Zipfys selling like hot cakes.
