Santa Retires Rudolph

Even Santa Claus has apparently been forced to make cutbacks this year. Rumours abound that Santa has retired Rudolph and his entire team of reindeer.

In an exclusive interview, Santa is supposed to have said that it was either the reindeer or cheaper holiday gifts for the kids this year.

Other reports appear to say that Santa has given into temptation and acquired a shiny, bright new red Zipfy mini luge to take him on his round the world trip on Christmas eve.

A photo journalist in Lapland is claiming to have taken photos of Santa practising on his Zipfy in preparation for his upcoming trip round the world. Apparently the photos show a gleeful Santa enjoying himself to the hilt. One photo is thought to show Santa on his Zipfy in mid air during a jump.

Reports are also coming in that, in an interview given from his exclusive retirement resort, Rudolph has claimed to be extremely happy and rather relieved that he and his fellow reindeer don’t have to make the somewhat strenuous trip this year, especially at their age.

On a side note, retailers report that Santa’s latest sled has started a new craze with Zipfys selling like hot cakes.

The Zipfy Experience

In a small town in the Bavarian Alps, a bunch of people got sick of riding down the slopes on shovels. They wanted something better, faster and well, frankly - funkier!

So someone came up with the design for the Zipfy (pronounced Zip-Fee).

It's somewhere between a snow sled and a luge and it will take you flying down a snow covered slope in the ride of your life.

Zipfy comes in 5 colors: Pink Sapphire, Electric Eel Green, Firefly Red, Blue Ice and Savanna Yellow.

Zipfy's secret is its clever molded shape and its central lever that provides stability and allows the rider to steer. To turn, you just need to lean over to the side whilst gripping the lever as you carve your way through the snow in a thrilling, sweeping curve. To slow down, simply drop your heels to the ground and dig into the snow. If you want to stop just lean back and pull on the lever. That's it!

Oh and by the way, you're so close to the ground you can just roll off safely if you need to.

Snowboarders, skateboarders and other adrenaline junkies take note - you can even do jumps on a Zipfy. Race downhill, over a snow ramp and take off. You can land on your feet holding the Zipfy in one hand. What a rush!

The Zipfy Mini-Luge is compact at only 21 x 13 x 16 inches, so it will fit easily in your trunk. It’s made from rugged high density polyethaline, but it weighs in at just 3.5 pounds which makes it easy to carry around, no matter how many tomes you carry it up the slope.

You can get hold of a Zipfy for under $40, making it not just a unique Christmas gift idea but a great inflation busting one too.
