A Zipfy is simply the best snow sled you can get your hands on.Its roots are in the old European pastime of shovel racing – an alternative to riding down the slopes on a tin tray! The thing about shovels is their handle – it seems that the Europeans found that sitting on the blade of a shovel and gripping the handle gave them great steering and control.
In the mountains, miners and trail maintenance crews found that riding their shovels down at the end of a hard day was a fast and fun way to get home.
But it’s more than a modified shovel, Zipfy also owes its origins to the Olympic Luge. You ride a Zipfy feet first like the traditional luge but unlike the Olympic sport you sit up with your legs extended and supported by the Zipfy’s molded topside. This makes it easy to steer and control your speed. It’s also a lot more comfortable than a luge!
This unique toboggan has a wing-like profile that allows riders to virtually float and glide across the snow and an underside rail design that carves through the snow in turns.
The Zipfy Mini-luge is precision made in the USA. One size fits all (up to 250 lbs) and its robust design and construction mean it can withstand high stress conditions.
Zipfy is now available in 10 countries and is tipped to be one of the most wanted, inexpensive gift ideas for Christmas.
